Your invited to celebrate the University’s 50 years with a private after hours viewing of David Hockney: Current at the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) in the final week before the exhibition closes.
David Hockney: Current features over 1200 works from the past decade of his career – some new and many never-before-seen in Australia – including paintings, digital drawings, photography and video works.
While you’re at the exhibition, be sure to take a look at La Trobe’s Living Landscapes project, which encourages visitors to use iPads to create their own personalised plant using the colours and brush strokes inspired by Hockney. For each of the estimated 4000 virtual plants created during the initiative, La Trobe will plant one real plant in our Wildlife Sanctuary, which was set up 50 years ago to protect local flora and fauna.
