Things you need to know: La Trobe email and Learning Management System (LMS)

During your time with us at La Trobe you’ll use Office 365 email system and Learning Management System (LMS) a lot!

About Office 365

Your La Trobe email address will be used by academic and administration staff to officially notify you about course/subject information, statement of accounts for fees, and all other university information and news.

We understand that you may also have an existing personal email account, but for ALL your university correspondence you MUST use your La Trobe email account. The university policy states that La Trobe email is the official medium for correspondence with you, our students. This ensures that you won’t miss out on any important news or notifications.

An email sent from other personal accounts (e.g. gmail, hotmail, etc) may not be answered due to privacy and confidentiality issues. You can view the Email for official correspondence with students policy online.

About the Learning Management System (LMS)

The LMS allows you access to all your online learning resources, activities and assessments for one or more of your subjects. If you log into the LMS and notice that one or more subjects are missing, please log into StudentOnLine and confirm that you are correctly enrolled in the subject(s). After correctly enrolling, wait 48 hours. If you still don’t have access to the subject in the LMS after 48 hours please contact Ask La Trobe for assistance with your enrolment.
