Exhibiting Culture: Inside Collections is a fully-accredited, place-based subject delivered by La Trobe University in its 50th anniversary year. Offered in partnership with Bendigo Art Gallery, the subject draws upon the University’s special anniversary exhibition, Revealing Identity: The Collections of La Trobe University, which is on show at Bendigo Art Gallery until September.
Exhibiting Culture is an immersive, five-day subject, based at La Trobe Art Institute (LAI) in the heart of Bendigo. One day will be spent in Melbourne, at the NGV and National Sports Museum and the remainder of the week will be spent at LAI and Bendigo Art Gallery. The week will include seminars, guest lectures, exclusive access, gallery visits and networking opportunities. Assessment will be completed outside the intensive week in students’ own time.
Exhibiting Culture is designed to deepen learning across a range of disciplines – including art history, social history, archaeology, philosophy, law, textual studies, education and politics. Subject lecturer is Dr Karen Annett-Thomas, Public Programs Coordinator at La Trobe Art Institute.
Exhibiting Culture runs from Monday 17 July – Friday 21 July 2017.
