Fairtrade Fortnight: join us for the Bundoora screening of ‘Seven Women’

Fairtrade Fortnight is about people coming together to support farmers and workers around the world. It’s your chance to stand up for what you believe in – whether that’s protecting the environment, gender equality, or ensuring farmers and workers are paid fairly. It used to be that you had to strike, chant, march or chain yourself to a tree to stand up for what you believe in.

Join us at Bundoora next Wednesday on campus for the screening of:

Seven Women – Wednesday 16 August
12:30pm – 2:00pm
ELT, 2 La Trobe University, Bundoora

The inspirational story of a previous La Trobe student and the fantastic organisation she has created to help others.

Stephanie Woollard created Seven Women at only 22, after meeting seven disabled women operating out of a tin shed in Kathmandu, struggling to make a living and enduring harsh discrimination. With her last $200, she paid for trainers to upskill the women to produce products for sale locally and abroad – and so Seven Women was born.
