Career Ready Mentoring at La Trobe University connects students, alumni and professionals and supports students and mentors through a rewarding program of learning, networking, and professional development. Through a structured one-to-one partnership, students receive critical guidance and career planning support that will increase their chances of securing a job after graduation.
Three mentoring programs are offered to provide the right support for you:
Why should students join the mentoring program?
Career Ready Mentoring will help you plan for life after graduation. For undergrad students, your mentor will provide you with keen insight into the professional world, especially for your chosen industry. You will receive guidance, and together you and your mentor will develop your professional network and build your personal and professional confidence! For postgrad students, you will be provided an invaluable opportunity for masters by coursework and graduate diploma students to develop a supportive partnership with an experience professional. Your mentor will help you gain a sense of direction for your career path, and gain qualified insight into your area of interest!
What are the benefits to having a mentor?
A mentor will challenge, motivate and inspire you to pursue your individual goals. Mentoring is a way for you to improve your chances of securing a job or graduate admission by developing a professional CV and practicing your interview techniques. A mentor will help you discover alternative career paths, learn how to adjust to the working world, develop your career plan, and increase your confidence in networking and professional communication skills.
What is the eligibility criteria?
