Tickets are now officially on sale for soundvision, our outdoor celebration of 50 years of La Trobe University featuring music, art and a late night party on Saturday 18 November.
This unique event will take place on the Academic Lawn overlooking the Moat at the centre of our Melbourne Campus and will be co-hosted with the La Trobe Student Union.
The feature performance of soundvision will be a world premiere of a specially commissioned film work ‘Variations on Leonard French’ created by composer Tamil Rogeon and filmmaker Paul W Rankin, which will be brought to life by the Australian Youth Orchestra. This sunset piece is inspired by the Four Seasons, the exquisite set of stained glass panels in the University’s sculpture park created by acclaimed artist Leonard French.
The outdoor concert will run from 4pm and will cater especially for families in the afternoon and early evening, leading to the feature orchestral performance at sunset. Live music will continue until 10.30pm when the La Trobe Student Union will take over programming with a party running into the early hours including a mix of live music and DJs.
soundvision promises to be the biggest outdoor art and music event in Melbourne’s north in 2017, and will be a brilliant way to close La Trobe’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
