At the deadline for nominations for an elected student member on the University Council, 10 nominations were received for the one position available.
In accordance with the provisions of the Council Elections Statute 2016, an electronic ballot will now be conducted.
The term of office for this position will commence from 1 January 2018 to 31 December 2018. The elected student member on the University Council does not “represent” the constituencies from which they are drawn. Rather they are expected to bring a student perspective to the University Council. All members, whether appointed or elected, are required by law to act at all times as trustees of the University and in the interests of the University rather than as delegates representing sectional interests.
An email will be sent on Monday 16 October 2017 to ALL Undergraduate and Postgraduate La Trobe students with information on “How to Vote”, so please remember to check your email next Monday.
Voting will commence 16 October 2017 at 12.00 noon and will close on 23 October 2017 at 12.00 noon.
