In2science is looking for student mentors!

Do you want to share your enthusiasm for STEM to inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers and mathematicians? In2science wants to hear from you!

Applications for the In2science mentor program are now open.

As an In2science mentor, you will visit a secondary science or maths class once a week to help students from disadvantaged backgrounds gain confidence in their studies and see the relevance of science and maths to their lives.

Over a 10 week placement period, you will work with the classroom teacher to be a role model for the students, help them with class work, and increase their aspirations toward higher education. You can choose to be a mentor-in-person, or an online mentor, participating with students at regional schools in online video sessions as an ‘e-mentor’.

What are the benefits to becoming an In2science mentor?

  • Training and career development opportunities during placement
  • Developing communication and interpersonal skills
  • First-hand experience of teaching as a possible vocational pathway
  • Satisfaction of assisting students from disadvantaged backgrounds

Applications for this exciting opportunity will close on 8 February 2018. Apply today!
