Understanding the socio-political and legal context of women’s sexual and reproductive health rights in the Philippines

Take this overseas placement to develop an understanding of the socio political and legal context of women’s sexual and reproductive health rights in the Philippines. Working in a multidisciplinary context, you’ll have contact with a range of health, community and legal organisations to foster knowledge of health rights and advocacy in national and international contexts.

21st January – 2nd February 2019 Manila, The Philippines

Open to ALL undergraduate students with a focus for students who are interested in Gender Studies; Public Health, Health Science; Nursing/ Midwifery; Community Services; and Law or Legal Studies. For law students, the subject counts as an elective to your law degree and for all other students please check with your
course advisors whether credit can be given.

Sponsorship:

Ten fully funded places provided by the Australian government under New Colombo Plan (NCP). NCP Sponsorship covers airfares and the tour fee (including accommodation, local transport and most meals). Please specify in your application if you are seeking a funded place. Note that NCP students will have to make arrangements for the airfare themselves.

Fees:

You may apply for standard mobility grant and OS-Help loan. The tour fee is $2,000 which will cover the following costs:

  • Study tour accommodation
  • Food
  • Local transport in Manila for excursions
